To create new Loop workspaces or manage members within workspaces, a specific Microsoft 365 plan is required. The eligible plans include:

  • Microsoft 365 Business Standard
  • Microsoft 365 Business Premium
  • Microsoft 365 E3
  • Microsoft 365 E5

It’s important to note that Office 365 E3 and E5 plans do not provide access to the complete set of Loop features.   1. Visit the Loop website: Go to https://loop.microsoft.com and sign in with your personal Microsoft account.
  2. Start creating: You can immediately start using Loop features, including creating workspaces and components.

For individuals with a work or school Microsoft 365 account:

  1. Check for availability: Contact your IT administrator to see if Loop has been enabled for your organization.
  2. Access Loop: If it’s enabled, you can access Loop through the following ways:
    • Loop website: Go to https://loop.microsoft.com and sign in with your work or school account.
    • Apps launcher: Find Loop in the app launcher within Microsoft 365.
    • Direct link: Use https://loop.microsoft.com
    • Other apps: Look for Loop components within other Microsoft 365 apps like Teams, Outlook, and OneNote.

  1. Enable Loop: Follow these steps to enable Loop for your organization:
    • Access the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    • Go to Settings > Org settings > Services > Loop.
    • Check the box to enable Loop workspaces.
    • Optionally, configure policy settings for Loop components in other apps.

To set up this Cloud Policy setting, follow these steps:

  • Log in to https://config.office.com/ using your Microsoft 365 admin credentials.
  • Navigate to Customization in the left pane.
  • Choose Policy Management.
  • Create a new policy configuration or modify an existing one.
  • In the “Choose the scope” dropdown list, opt for either “All users” or select the group to which you want to apply the policy. For additional details, refer to Microsoft 365 Groups for Cloud Policy.
  • In the “Configure Settings” section, select “Create and view Loop workspaces in Loop,” and then pick one of the following settings:
  • Disabled: Users cannot create Loop content in workspaces.
  • If workspaces are disabled, the Loop app will open Loop components. If this rollout isn’t implemented in your environment, Loop components will open in Office.com.
  • Enabled: Users can create Loop content in workspaces.
  • Not configured: Users can create Loop content in workspaces.
  • Save the policy configuration.
  • If necessary, reassign priority for any security group. (If two or more policy configurations apply to the same users, the one with higher priority takes precedence.)
  • When creating a new policy configuration or modifying an existing one, be aware of a delay in the changes being reflected:
  • If there were existing policy configurations before the change, it takes 90 minutes for the change to be applied.
  • If there were no policy configurations before the change, it takes 24 hours for the change to be applied.
