Difference Between User Mailbox and Shared Mailbox
A mailbox is the storage location of electronic mail messages found on a remote server or downloaded to the user’s messaging application. E-mail programs commonly divide the mailbox into separate folders, like inbox, sent items, outbox, deleted items and other personal folder.
User Mailbox: User mailboxes are Exchange mailboxes associated with specific persons, with one mailbox per person in most cases.
Each user mailbox is associated with an Active Directory account, allowing the user to send and receive email messages as well as arrange meetings and appointments using the mailbox.
Shared Mailbox Restrictions
Shared mailbox: A shared mailbox is an email inbox where several people may send and receive emails from the same address. This is great for a company that wishes to split the cost of answering customer queries.Any member of the shared mailbox can respond to emails sent to the shared address. Any replies would appear to have been sent from the shared mailbox address rather than the individual user’s address.

Restrictions of O365 Shared mailbox?
Despite the fact that the Shared Mailbox is free and does not require a subscription, each person who uses it must be issued an Office 365 licence.
Users who have an Exchange Online Kiosk licence are unable to use it.
Here you may store emails sent to and received by the Shared Mailbox.
This is where data from on-premises Public Folders may be saved.
Each shared mailbox can have a capacity of up to 50GB; however, shared mailboxes with capacities more than 50GB must be licenced.
Users cannot access a shared mailbox instantly because it lacks a username and password.

Shared Mailbox limitation and use?
Shared mailbox is designed to allow numerous users, such as departmental, sales, HR and IT etc
It is not possible to utilize it to save a user’s emails.
It’s not possible to keep a journal on it.
It is inaccessible to ActiveSync clients.
The Unified Messaging feature is not available.
It is not accessible using the Outlook client. You must first configure a user mailbox with access to the shared mailbox before using the Outlook client to access it. An Active Directory user associated with a shared mailbox is always linked to a deactivated user account.
